Washington Redskins set to host Tom Brady's Patriots in Week 14 – NFL Preview
As quarterback Tom Brady prepares to cast another spell of his magic to lead New England Patriots to their fifth straight victory, Washington Redskins are planning to exert an immense pressure on him as the two sides meet at the
FedEx Field in the week-14 game of the National Football League current season on Sunday.
The Patriots are on a four-game winning streak, which is their longest this season. Into his 12th season with the franchise, Brady is looking to ensure that the supremacy of his team in the American Football Conference
East division is maintained.
In the 12 games he has played this season, Brady has completed 306 passes of 459 attempts for 3,916 yards, while recording 30 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. And there is a lot more to come, of course!
Redskins, unlike Patriots, are having a poor run this season. They have lost eight games and are placed at the bottom of the National Football Conference East division. Despite this record, Brady thinks that Redskins can pose a
threat to his team on Sunday and said that it would be a challenging encounter.
“I think it’s important for us to play the best game this weekend,” he said. “What’s in our control is how we’re able to go out there and see how we match up against a team on the road that has some very good players, very good
schemes, very well coached. It’s going to be a challenging game.”
Since last week, luck is going against the Redskins’ way. They lost against New York Jets 34-19 on last Sunday and much to the disappointment of coach Mike Shanahan and the other players, two of the Redskins team members, left
tackle Trent Williams and tight end Fred Davis, were banned for four games for abusing the league’s substance abuse policy.
However, the Redskins are trying to forget the humiliation and move forward, but Brady still remains a threat. Tackle Barry Cofield believes that the quarterback is a tough guy and a great passer, but he also knows how Brady could
be hurt.
"You gotta hit him, you gotta harass him, you gotta bat balls, hopefully get an interception or two, maybe strip the ball,'' he said. “The only way you can hurt Tom Brady is win.''
Washington is the only venue where the Patriots have never been able to win a game. Whether the record comes at the Redskins’ advantage will be witnessed on Sunday.
