Washington Wizards crush listless Charlotte Bobcats 113-85 - NBA Recap
On Monday night at the Time Warner Cable Arena, Washington Wizards crushed their hosts, the Charlotte Bobcats, 113-85, snapping their five game losing streak right there. Meanwhile this was the Bobcats 12th consecutive loss.
This was also the 18th time this season, Charlotte have lost by 20 or more points. Charlotte has been outscored by an average of 13.1 point differential this season, making it rank among the worst differentials in National
Basketball Association’s history.
Jordan Crawford led the scoring for Washington with 20 points; Jan Vesely notched up his first career double-double performance with 11 points and 11 rebounds while Kevin Seraphin added 10 points on the night. It was an off night
in scoring for All-Star point guard, John Wall who could only manage to score 2 points. James Singleton, coming off the bench, also had a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds.
Washington’s bench was extremely dominant on the night as three other players also came off the bench to score in double figures.
Reserve Bobcats forward, Corey Maggette had a game high of 23 points. Kemba Walker had 16 points while Gerald Henderson contributed 12. It was a poor performance by the Bobcats as none of the other players managed to score in double
figures.
Washington dominated the game from the get go, outrebounding the Bobcats 48-39. They also made a meal of Charlotte in transition by scoring 26 fast break points on the night. It was a great game from the Wizards point of view as
they distributed the ball very well throughout the night; extra passes were made to turn good shots into perfect shots. The Wizards had 28 assists on the night, Wall who was struggling to score made up for by dishing out a game high of 12 assists.
The game was subjugated by the Wizards from the start as they went on 8-0 run to start off with four starters opening their accounts in that run. Charlotte did offer resistance as they rallied back to 10-12 with 5:59 remaining
in the first. From that point on though, the Wizards went on a 7-0 run to extend their advantage to 9 points. The opening 12 minutes ended with a score of 31-20, advantage Wizards.
The second quarter followed the same script as the Wizards extended their lead to 20 points at the half way mark, 60-40. Washington continued their onslaught for the rest of the night as the Bobcats never managed to trouble. On
the night the lead got to as big as 32 points reflecting the fact that the hosts were never really in the game.
