  1. i live in washington

  2. The snow actually helped to provide cover for the river crossing.  The river was a major obstacle, but Washington was lucky enough to have experienced boat handlers from Massachusetts with him, and to have been able to gather some boats.  Even then, it was a near run thing to get the army across the river over the night, and in fact, the last few trips were made in the light of dawn.  Then, marching through the cold and snowy woods, Washington divided his forces to come at the Hessians from two ways, thus maximizing the element of surprise.

Dealing with the Hessians was another place where good luck came into play for Washington and his battered little army.  The Hessians had been up late drinking and celebrating the night before, and were confident in their security because of the snow and the river.  Surprise was complete, and Washington's foresight in having knox bring several cannon across the river was icing on the cake.  Stumbling from their barracks, hung over, some still drunk and half asleep, the Hessians were faced with large numbers of Continentals close in, and canon which took only a few shots to pretty much drive the fighting spirit out of the Hessians once and for all.

  3. 1 and 2- Washington divided the forces into three main armies. Only his succeeded in crossing the river (the others could not due to the storm). So he alone faced the forces at Trenton.

    3. The Hessians were drunk since it was the day after Christmas and they had been celebrating the night before.
