Wasim Akram appreciates BCCI’s step to look into http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750’s loss against England – Cricket News Update
Former Pakistani skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Wasim-Akram-c96292, has appreciated the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for deciding to probe India’s humiliating defeat on the tour to England.
Losing the first three Tests of the four-match competition, the Indians not only suffered series defeats but also lost the esteemed No.1 position on Test rankings.
While everyone is surprised to see Indians displaying an ordinary show, BCCI took initiative and decided to review the team’s disastrous series against the Englishmen.
Although, many of the cricket gurus are terming the Men in Blue unlucky, Akram supported that idea of probing the matter to find out the major reasons behind such a poor act.
"I understand the BCCI is going to probe the reasons for the Test humiliation. While it is a welcome move, I only hope that it will not be a one-sided investigation. Wealth should
not blind wisdom," said Akram.
The World Champions came under heavy criticism for failing to have reserve players in the ranks, as it became a massive crisis for national selectors when they needed to pick
replacements for the injured http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Harbhajan-Singh-c61453.
Another area of concern for India is having a Test batting line-up comprising of aged players such as http://www.senore.com/Cricket/VVS-Laxman-c2772. Akram feels that the Indian
administration needs to ask itself whether India has capable youngsters to fill the void left by the veterans.
"Fatigue, injuries, lack of application and work ethics are the many factors that have been doing the rounds, but the one thing that worries me is whether India have the talent
to replace their veterans like Tendulkar, Dravid, Laxman and Sehwag. Therefore, the Rainas, Kohlis and the Rohit Sharmas have miles to go. It will be a tough call for the selectors," shared the legendary fast bowler who is currently in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013, following the
series as a commentator.
On the other hand, Akram lavished praise on the English side, saying that the Englishmen deserved to be at the top since they have quality young and experienced players in each
department of the sport.
