http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Misbah-ul-Haq-c1972 for uniting team
Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram has praised the think tank of Pakistan, which includes Coach Waqar Younis, Captain Shahid Afridi and vice-captain Misbah-ul-Haq, for bringing the team together as one unit.
The legendary player stated, “I think Waqar, Afridi and Misbah have all together done a great job. The team has faced a lot of flak in the last six-eight months and now it has surely emerged from the worrying days.”
Although Pakistan managed to win the One Day International (ODI) and Test series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 recently, Wasim said that the team should not lose focus as they were up against a weak team.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kenya-c752 in their opening match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 today. Even though the Men-in-Green are a much better side than Kenya, Wasim warned that the Africans shouldn’t be taken lightly at all.
Wasim pointed to the match between the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c749, which turned out to be an exciting encounter, and said that the minnows shouldn’t be under estimated. However, Wasim was confident that Pakistan would come out with a plan and would be determined
to start their campaign on a positive note.
Pakistan will also be expecting some senior players like http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shoaib-Akhtar-c90080 to perform well in the mega event. Wasim hoped that Akhtar would be used sensibly by the Pakistan captain. There were some mixed performances from the players in the warm-up
games. The team won their first match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747, but looked somewhat vulnerable against England.
However, Pakistan experimented a lot in their game against England, which may have been the reason for their loss. They will be eying a consistent run in their pool matches though. The team hasn’t lost to Kenya in their five meetings so far and will be looking
forward to maintaining that 100 percent record against the Africans.
On the other hand, Kenya started their World Cup campaign in dismal fashion. They lost to the Kiwis by 10 wickets after being bowled-out for just 69 runs. The Africans will also be looking for an improved effort against Pakistan.
