Wasim Akram predicts http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SR-Tendulkar-c2556’s 100th ton at Oval – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Chinnadupargea-Sachin-c50607 Tendulkar, would complete his 100th ton at The Oval during the fourth and last Test match against England, scheduled to be played
on August 18, 2011.
“But I have no doubt he will get this milestone and become the first batsman to achieve this record," Akram told reporters.
Before the series started, there was much hype over the prospect of Tendulkar compleiting his 100th century in his side’s first match at Lord’s, which was also marked as the 2000th Test match of cricket's
history.
“There has been so much hype and build up to this series and particularly around Tendulkar's milestone that obviously the pressure must be felt by the great batsman. Even the greatest of batsman feel the pressure in such situations,
“added Akram.
However, the batsman failed to play a considerable innings in the first Test match at Lord’s. Tendulkar had never been able to hit even a half century at that venue and his highest score at Lord’s was 37.
In the second Test match, at Trent Bridge, the veteran hit 56 runs of 86 balls, but remained unsuccessful to save his side from a massive 319-run defeat by the hosts.
The 38-year-old is currently holding the record of hitting the most centuries in International cricket. The right-handed batsman has played 179 Test matches and has scored 14810 runs at an average of 56.52, including 51 centuries
and 60 fifties. Playing in the 453 ODIs, he has scored 18111 runs at an average of 45.16, including 48 centuries and 95 half centuries.
Akram asserted that keeping England’s conditions in mind, the batting icon did not give any poor batting performance in the ongoing series thus far.
"You need a bit of luck in English conditions where the ball does a lot and unfortunately he has not got that bit of luck,” commented the former left-arm pacer.
Wasim also said that scoring the 100th International century is a big achievement, which no one is going to enjoy in the near future.
