Former Pakistan captain and commentator Wasim Akram has slammed the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Misbah-ul-Haq-c1972 the captain of the Pakistani side. Misbah was appointed the captain of the Pakistan Test squad, becoming the fourth player to lead
the side in this format of the game.

The Pakistani selectors also claimed that they wanted to get Younis Khan back at the helm but the PCB had not allowed them to bring him.

Akram spoke to ESPN and expressed surprise over the appointment. Misbah has not been a part of the Pakistani side for almost year now. Akram said, "I was surprised when I heard that Misbah has been named the Pakistan captain. He has been out of the team since
the beginning of the year and to bring him back as a captain was a bit shocking."

Akram also said that while the decision is okay if it was made for only this series, the PCB needs to look at some long-term options. He said, “Kamran Akmal is there but he is inexperienced. They have also tried Shoaib Malik. Mohammad Yousuf is making a comeback
after a long time and he should just concentrate on his batting at the moment.”

Unfortunately for the Pakistani side, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-Afridi-c2482 is not too keen on playing in the longer format of the game, while Salman Butt has been provisionally suspended by the International Cricket Council. Malik’s lack of form means that he has not been able to
cement his place in the side, while Yousuf is also making a comeback.

What would also be going against Akmal is his poor wicket-keeping and controversial track-record.

Misbah made a comeback to the Pakistani side in 2007 and played for two years before losing his place in the side in 2009. What could work for him is the fact that he is one of most non-controversial Pakistani cricketer in a set-up that is full of controversies.

Akram softened his stance against Misbah when he said, "The wickets in Dubai might suit Misbah's style of batting, but you cannot take the South Africans lightly. They are a very tough opposition under any conditions. Misbah needs to work hard and make sure
he earns the faith of the team. If he gets runs, everything else will take care of itself."

Pakistan plays http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 in Dubai and Abu Dhabi in a Test, ODI and T20I series.
