Wasim Akram wants to see http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Amir-c76675 back in action – Cricket News Update
Pakistan’s former bowling great http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Wasim-Akram-c96292 in a recent interview has come out in support of spot-fixing tainted pacer Mohammad Amir and believes that the youngster should be given a chance to make a comeback in international cricket once he completes the five-year ban imposed on him by the International Cricket Council (ICC) that bars him from taking part in any cricketing activities.
"I think we should move on in Amir's case, forgive him as he has served his punishment for the mistake he committed and allow the youngster another chance," Wasim told AFP.
He urged his countrymen to forgive the young left-arm pacer - dubbed as a younger version of Wasim – for his sins and welcome him back in the sport.
"As a cricket-loving nation we must forgive him (Amir). He has done his time and once he serves his ban he should be allowed back into international cricket as he is one of the most talented bowlers," said Wasim.
While speaking the former skipper also added, “If Pakistan is fine, the ICC is fine, then it doesn't matter what others say. Amir should play once he serves his ban.”
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/R-Dravid-c2229 who recently retired from international cricket also backed Amir’s return in the game while praising the youngster as being one of the best bowlers in modern-day cricket.
Meanwhile, England’s all-rounder http://www.senore.com/Cricket/KP-Pietersen-c1806 insisted that anyone found guilty of spot-fixing should never be allowed to make a comeback in the game.
Amir along with fellow pacer http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mazhar-c75448 Majeed.
Amir, after serving his sentence of six months is free while his partners in crime are still serving their term in England.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) this week said that they were in talks with the ICC to start a rehabilitation process for Amir as the board does not wish to see Amir’s enormous talent as a cricketer go to waste.
