  1. No Way. Sorry but its not. I think there are much more then just Jacksonville. As for "once" i dont really know. Maybe awhile ago?


  2. I doubt it. At 758 square miles, Jacksonville didn't become become the largest city in area in the contiguous United States until 1968. Juneau, Alaska has been in excess of 2000 square miles since 1970. So, it is unlikely that Jacksonville has ever been the largest city in area in the United States, let alone the world.

  3. I thought Plymouth mass. was in area size for the whole of America.

  4. no... london at least has always been bigger than jacksonville, as too would have been rome, paris, bagdad, and many imperial cities in the far east

  5. Doubt it.  It's currently the largest city (by area) in the Lower 48, chiefly by merit of annexing almost the entire county in which is resides, but it has never competed for largest city on a global scale.
