What makes Robin Hood more moral or righteous than the rich people he stole from? What justifies "hating the rich just because they are rich" ? Since when did envy become a moral value?

  1. But that's like saying killing is always wrong, if you were being held against your will and you manage to take out your captors is it unjust? If Robin Hood could not find any other source of income, and the rich people were getting rich off of non-ethical reasoning then I think it would be ethical for him to take from them.

Don't get me wrong though, what Robin Hood was doing was illegal.

  2. The question really is one of perspective. Robbing from another is a crime. But Taking back somehing that was robed from you cant be considered robbing. If the money they took was unjust. Then stealing it and giving it back cant really be called stealing. It never belong to them in the first place. but oh wells. I only know from the disney cartoon and not reality LOl

  3. Yes, he's a criminal.

I think the reason that his actions were considered more moral than common theivery is that the rich got rich by charging taxes on the poor.  He's still a thug, but since he is doing it for the people and not for himself, you are supposed to like him for risking himself for a bunch of strangers.
