  1. It could be that Canada Post is a little behind in their deliveries, so you may need to wait a day or so. If they have direct deposit, as many government programs do, find out if you can have your monthly payment sent directly to your bank account. That way, you wouldn't need to worry about Canada Post doing its job so you can eat.

As for the other responder, ODSP stands for Ontario Disability Support Program and, no, it does not hand out free money to layabouts. Applicants have to qualify for ODSP and the criteria are more stringent than, say, having a pulse.

  2. As a previous poster mentioned, make arrangements to have it deposited directly into a bank account and then you won't have to depend on the mail.  It will go into your account at the same time every month.  I am not sure when you posted this question, but it looks like it was probably Thursday, which was March 27.  It is possible that the actual issuing was not until Friday, or if it is a monthly cheque it might not be until Monday, which will be the last day of the month.  Best of luck, and I hope it is sorted out.

  3. Ontario Disability Support Program. is not Welfare. ODSP pays on the very last day of the month. They mail cheques, usually. to arrive at your place, on the last day of the month. Direct depositing to a Bank occurs on the last day of the month. The only exception is when the last day of the month, falls on a holiday or weekend. Then its sent out earlier. Your income statement is usually sent to you about two days before your payment is received.

This is for people that are handicapped, not free money from the Government. Its barely enough to exist on, thus the name, subsistance. Three adults living on or about$15,000 per year

    isn't generous by any means.

  4. So.. educate me, what is odsp? another government freebie on top of our great welfare system where so many immigrants, ex felons, students etc take advantage of here in Canada. Don't fall in that rut. It's the ones that work here that pay for this stuff through higher taxes. Drop me a line, I could get you a job here in Barrie if need be. Oh well, I made my point but now I realize that "odsp"  might stand for disability payment, So if your not faking it or you were born that way please forgive me.
