Question:

Wasn't there a recession in the late 90s? Why wasn't there that much media coverage?

I have heard polls that show that most Americans say they are doing better economically but they believe that everyone else is doing worse.

Could the media's obsession with the economic downturn make everyone else think things are worse than they really are? Why are they obsessed with this downturn, which hasn't been labeled a recession yet by most econ analysts, and they weren't that obsessed with the recession in the nineties?

  1. We haven't had a recession like this since the 70's,and it is getting worse could turn into another depression.
