  1. Are you sure that it is a wasp nest and not a hive of Miner Bees?  If it is a Miner Bee hive, then leave it alone, the bees won't hurt you and they will eventually move on. There are lots of web sites you can look up about them, try http://www.malden.gov.uk/LivingHere/Envi...

  2. no kidding... pee on it.

  3. Could be a bit dangerous. you need the £42 this is the safest and best way, you don't know how many are there, you may not kill them all and make them angry, wasps are more likely to sting than bees.

  4. If it is in the ground pour vinegar in. Be careful make sure you wear long sleeves and long pants. They are probably mudd wasps and water isn't going to do to much to them since they can swim. Good luck

  5. oooh be  there is a can of foam on sale in shops and it is good, I have seen wasps die almost instantly! Be careful it could be dangerous! I would play the lady here, helpless, scared etc etc etc you know how to do it! get a guy roped in, I would wait until dusk when they all go back to their nest, make sure there is only 1 entrance though. Get protective clothing just in case, and attack the hole with foam and run like he**! I know my son in law would do the more dangerous option and set fire to them.  good luck, I personally would cough up for the council to do it, it's safer and if they don't get it right you can call them back.

  6. The foaming wasp nest destroyer is only for use on exposed nests,as it is absorbed through the papery outer shell. You need the powder type, which you dust (heavily) round the entrance to the nest so they carry it in on their feet, killing the nest from within.

  7. Wasps return to their nest at night. This is the best time to do anything. Buy a can of insecticide and another of foam filler - from a diy shop. When it is dark (at least two hours after sunset) go out and spray down the hole with the insecticide - as much as you can, 20 or 30 seconds. Then spray the foam filler into the hole making sure you get it right in there. This should deal with the problem.

Incidentally wasps are very useful in your garden, they eat huge amounts of aphids and caterpillars that would otherwise eat your plants. Don't ever think they have no use in nature.

  8. go to b&q you can buy special stuff to kill them i don't know how much it is but if you don't want to get stung use a professional or ring the council or something

  9. Id sugest a 6 mill Riffel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ah no em happened 2 me B4 2 if ya hav sum rug or sumtin ya dont want  light it on fire and throw it at dem ya mite den need 2 shut da back door close all da windows and get away or the day when you come home your house will be as good as new;-)

  10. you can get fly and wasp killer sprays from hardware shops then just spray it in and run away! make sure you destroy the nest afterwards otherwise new wasps will find the nest and reuse it

  11. here in the states we call them yellow jackets, and they will sting the c**p out of you if aggravated. best time of attack is at night when all have returned to the nest and then find entrance and exit and plug the holes with the insulation foam that you buy at the hardware store(aerosol cans) put it in the holes at the same time(get help) and it will expand and block the holes.  it's hard to discourage them and they will stay as long as they are not bothered. i have put insect killer in the holes also. best time to attack is at night.

  12. It could be bees...dont use gasoline/petrol it is to dangerous to yourself. Possibly use a hose pipe. It may be a hornets nest

they are usually hedgerow/tree dwellers  .....but jeez...run for your life if it is. If not annoying  live and let live. Am so pc I feel silly answering  and dont know where  I am. They can be a nuisance...wasps.

  13. What's the matter with us humans? we just want to kill everything else. The animals, the plants and eventually the world we live in. Just pay the £42 and get rid of them responsibly.

  14. some of these answers will get you in a heap of trouble!!.... go ask at a nursery for a powdered insecticide , your equivalent of Sevin powder..... get a can for not a lot of money...go out at dusk with an old bowl full of that powder..(careful, don't inhale it!!!)... pour it gently around the entrance hole so that any one of the insects that come in or out MUST walk thru it.... then , in about 24 hrs,  you should see no more movement around the entrance... at that point, take a shovel and some spare soil and cover the entrance hole .....

Sevin powder is the best thing for ground-dwelling hornets or wasps..... do be careful, still.....

  15. Well, God forbid they are living creatures, but, how I hate their stings, and I well and truly react!

My dad in ground nests used to pour paraffin into the nest, stand well back and throw a lighted match at the nest!

Kerpow, etc. etc. THE END! Well it does work, as cruel as it may sound!

These days I just let them be, share my garden with all!

  16. A bucket of boiling water will do the trick.

  17. we have something that's a form of petrol, called diesel, it will suffocate and burn there bodies. I have used it alot of times, but mostly when the nest is on a branch.
