Wasps around outdoor fountain:?

Question

This is the first year that we have had our outdoor fountain and the wasp population around and in the base of the fountain is growing and growing. Any suggestions?

When its nighttime when they are calmed down get on some cloths that cover the whole body then light a newspaper or something and smoke them out (they hate smoke makes them sleepy). Then clean the surface where there hive was really good so that they cant smell their hormones and make a new hive.

Spray the area with wasp killer. Also see if there are any openings around the base, if so, fill the gaps so they can not build a nest.
