Wasted tv show?

There is a show called wasted on discovery home, they figure the carbon foot print of a home...ie 39 times its land size. how can i figure this for my home?

I haven't seen the tv show, but you can calculate and estimate of your total carbon footprint online.  They ask about house size and stuff on the website.
