Most of my friend assemble their pc by buying parts from Sim Lim. However, nowadays, the price different is not much.

I will get ASUS or IBM is for notebook.

As for desktop, no preference. I will just based on specification and price. HP is out from my radar for now, as its pricing is always one of the highest.

Most of my friends use DIY PCs for home and office.

Normally, they tell me what they want or usage then I tailored and fix up for them.

My view:

For DIY PCs, replacement parts are easily available for any computer shop.

As long as all software are original, should not be any problem.

For Branded PCs, some parts may need to go back to the svc central to buy.

How much is it going to cost?

As custom parts is used, upgrading is not so easy.

Some, they just give the window sticker, no disk.

Imagine, if format HDD, how to install back yourself?

Go back to them?
