Question:

Wat are people going to do about getting a new car?

They know that gas cars are out of the question because gas is getting impossible and even if they get a great deal, the cost of gas will defeat the purpose of that great deal in just one year and they say the electric car is more expensive than the gas car, but in a time like this, it's more needed.

Are the electric car dealerships gonna know it's going to sell and will be very flexible with financing and even bring the price down a little since they know it'll sell and will get mass-produced?

The next car for anyone who's not rich needs to be the electric car and hopefully some good, flexible financing will take place.

  1. This is a huge probem facing us, but for the time being refrain from getting an hybrid (electric) as they are too expensive and by the end of their run turn out to be worse for the environement (battery waste etc.)

Petrol prices are too expensive, so avoid cars that run of unleaded etc.

Best option, and unbelievably the currently most environmentally friendly car: Diesel.

  2. Drive a diesel.Mine is converted to burn any oils.

  3. There are a lot of eletric cars on the market today that are less than $20,000.

most cars are driven less than 30 miles a day,

And the electric car makes an excellent second car,, and could be use as the first choice for most of our needs.

as for now I will stick to my 1995 ford escort, and wait unto the auto makers wake up and change their ways, or I will convert a used car to electric, cheaper than buying a new car.

and can be driven at highway speeds with a range of 100 miles.

all for less than a new car.

  4. Well for right now I am going to stick with my 1969 VW as it get decent mileage and repair costs are minimal because I can do all of it myself. If things get worse in the future I can always fit a propane system or CNG from an old forklift to it.

  5. lol I can't drive so it doesn't really bother me much!

  6. The problem is that nobody but the rich can afford an electric that has any kind of range or speed.  I couldn't even go to work and back in most electric cars that I can afford, plus I would never put my family in one of those tin cans.

Electric cars are the future, not the present.

  7. Electric cars lack the range and quick refill of petrol and diesel along with not exactly being as easily available (those who buy their cars by just looking at the two or three dealers closest to home and across the street from each other probably won't ever see them).

For the most part though those buying new cars are starting to pay attention to the fuel economy stickers which means that smaller cars are selling better than larger cars.

  8. Get a diesel bus and charge people to ride with you! You can make your own fuel at home, and diesel engines last three times longer than gas engines! Better yet make it multi-fuel like most military vehicles! Set it up to use either diesel or compressed natural gas! If you have natural gas service at your home then all you need is a compressor!
