  1. If you have a car, sell it.

  2. i was at walmart today and they gave away a reusable shopping bag. it cuts plastic and paper use and its tougher than both.

if you do use regular shopping bags, use them for other stuff like as trash bags.

instead of buying bottled water, buy a reusable one.

there are tons of websites that give ideas. i picked a random one.

and good looking out for mother earth!

  3. I for one am starting to buy those bags from the grocery stores and using them!! Those bags can usually hold a lot!!

    GB

  4. One of the most overlooked ways to go green is to make sure that your electronics are recycled or disposed of properly.  Many cities do this.  In addition to all the groundwater that is ruined through heavy metal and other compounds in electronics, recycling helps reduce the need for mining.  Mining itself has a huge impact on the land and consumed tremendous amounts of energy.

    You should recycle:

Ni-Cd batterys, computers, TVs, monitors, Li-ion batteries, cell phones, flourescent light bulbs, etc.

  5. Ride a bike, carpool, and walk, whenever possible.

    Do laundry with cold water.

This may seem funny, but it actually saves me a bunch of money while conserving, while it's pee, let it be.....

If your hot water doesn't kick in as fast, put a bucket at the bottom of you sink, and reuse that water to water you plants.

    Recycle.

    Buy green products.

  6. Ride your bike to the nearest store for your next trip for milk or bread?

  7. Switch all your lights to Fluorescent for starters. Turn off any unused electronic device, save power, recycle, etc.

  8. Read this article from HGTV Green Home. It has lots of things you can do to go green:

  9. http://www.realgoods.com/ has lots of good ideas and products.  Recycling is a good start.  Florecent lighting is pretty energy efficient.  Solar pannels, windmills, are all good.

  10. I recycle everything, I turn off water while brushing my teeth, I wash my own dishes, I have a compost in the back yard for old food, leaves, grass clippings. I have bags I reuse from my grocers so I don't use plastic. Start small, anything and everything you do will make a difference.

  11. First, try sites like treehugger.org and freecycle.org. These are both incredible sites with loads of info. on how to live more sustainably. Check to see if you have a local recycling service that will pick up recycling at you house, or if there are drop-off sites in your neighborhood. There is so much you can do, but this will give you a great start.
