  1. It depends on the age range.

    For young kids practicing addition and subtraction, you could make a board where the pieces travel around in some sort of pattern. You can put simple problems on the squares, and if they get it right, they get to roll and move on. (Only one move per turn.) Or you can have diff. types of squares -- some blank, some that make you pick up a trivia card, and some that say, e.g., 'move back 2' or perhaps give a 'reason.'

    For older kids, you can do the same sort of thing with multiplication and division problems.
