Wat are the new research areas in mining field...to be short can anybody give ideas about slope monitoring ..?

I think the mining field is limited to resource location and extraction.  Mining practices are pretty up to date with technology and methods of extraction but the main aspect that is now needed is where to find the resources and choosing which method to extract them.  Research will be plentiful in this area but I dont think research oppurtunites will stretch beyond it.

Slope monitoring is just what it sounds like.  Through some method, as simple as observing the slope or as complex as attaching technology that detects changes or movements, the slope is watched to see if it is going to cchange in any major way.  THis is meant to protect against landslides and other natural disasters.
