  1. Risers give more clearance between the wheel and the deck, reducing the chance for wheel bite.  They are usually used when a rider uses bigger wheels.  They vary in height from 1/8" to 1/2"

    Shock pads are similar to risers, but they are made form rubber to absorb some of the shock from landings and to improve the ride on rougher surfaces.  They will also give more clearance between the wheel and deck.  Shock pads generally are only 1.8" thick.


  2. they are kind of like "pads" between the truck and the deck...they absord some of the impact when you land....it helps the board not snap around the trucks
