carbon dioxide is the important green house gas causing global warming by producing green house effect.other green house gases are methane,chloro fluoro carbons,nitrous oxide,hydro fluoro carbons

due to green house effect the solar rays penetrate the layer of CO2 and add to the heating of the earths atmosphere. the polar ice caps may melt raising in the level of oceans by a few metres leading to submersion of many islands ,low lying areas and coastal regions like kolkata ,mumbai,chennai etc

planting more and more trees is the only thing what we can do for now.........

also we should stop cutting trees

We all are! It is a matter of personal responsibility and saying "the government" needs to do something - who elects the government? Us! Where do people in government come from? Us! (they're not aliens...)

But why is it being allowed to get so bad without concerted efforts to stop it (as was done successfully with the 'ozone hole')? Yes, the USA has to take a lot of credit for derailing any constructive efforts to prevent significant negative repercussions including the costs of not doing anything.

Australia and Canada should also accept a lot of responsibility for their lack of interest as well.

Below them, all countries (and people!) have at one point or another, hindered constructive progress by putting short-term, selfish interests ahead of the big issues.

Kind of like sitting on the railway tracks, as a train heads towards you, arguing who has the shiniest piece of rail...

every 1 in the world  is responsible n cause the goverment is too cause they r not stopping throwing the plastic bags n making use of paper bags so people have been throwing these bags in many past year so i think that goverment should fine people who do this n pollute r green cool planet n r ozone layer should not get spoilt n if people will protest i will always be in there infact i think that the goverment is of no use n if people will protest then only the goverment will understand that r world is so precious n henceforth i will take the leadership of it and make the people understand about it n put a poster of how useful is r earth.

I believe that it doesn't exist beyond being a perfectly normal fluctuation in the global climate. Since the beginning of time the earth has lurched quite normally between freezing cold and blistering heat (sometimes very suddenly in a few decades)-it's no different now.

And rising CO2 levels proove nothing; CO2 levels actually rise after a rise in temperature; it is not an indication of climate change.

Bill Bryson convinced me in A Short History of Nearly Everything that global warming as perpetuated by the media does not exist.

I think it's mostly natural causes, but there is clear evidence that man is having an impact, such as the doubling of CO2 concentration in the atmosphere.  We need to get off of fossil fuels no matter what is responsible for global warming.

Global warming is basically a concern of the world today. Mainly

because of increase of exhaust gases, air pollution,CFCs, exhaust gases og big scale factories they are causing the increase in

global temperatures. There is a every risk that the OZONE layer

First global warming as advertised is not happening and temperatures have never exceeded those of the mid 30s when drought conditions were severe world wide because of shifts in the jet stream and high solar activity. Co2 is a minor green house gas if it has any effect at all. At the most it is 3rd or 4th ranked to the rest with water vapor (humidity) being the most prevalent and powerful. When humidity is low it is much more comfortable than when it is high, take a summer day and if humidity is low it can still be comfortable in the shade out of the direct sun. However if it is high then no place is comfortable unless you have a dehumidifier to remove the excess water vapor from the air. For people with a good technical education this whole AGW thing is a very obvious con game because the very people promoting it are also against any and all technical solutions that could be applied in solving the problems they present.

From what I've gathered, global warming is a natural phenomenon, but it is true that we humans are speeding up this process by thousands of times.

We are the ones who are responsible. We need to change our attitude, even in a little way. If all of us will be concern about what's happening to our planet we could prevent Global Warmin. We could walk rather than using some CO2 releasing vehicles, plant more trees, stop using cigarettes, stop illegal logging and many more. That's all I could say. Thanks

We are all responsible for what has happened but America is responsible for the fact nothing has been done to improve the situation. Refusing to sign anything until China does is ridiculous. The US needs to lead environmental change not use China as an excuse to do nothing.

Global warming is believed to be resulting from excessive fossil fuel consumption.  Industrialized nations are more responsible because of their "higher standards of living".  This means they create summer like conditions in winter, and winter like conditions in summer.  This man made climate change is brought about by air conditioning plants and heat convectors.  In the bargain this affects a large portion of populations health. In a greater perspective, we all are responsible.  Those that will not compromise on comfort, travel in 'big cars' and use more resources because of their affluence or just because they are unwilling to 'step out' !!
