  1. Your question is too general.

    What exactly do you seek?

  2. What happens if you don't do the work or don't like it.

Do you get an "incomplete" or "drop" on your official transcript?

    Is there a time frame?

Can you work FASTER if possible?

  3. Figure out your support network.  How much help are you going to have from parents, friends, teachers, etc.

Make sure that you aren't expected to go at it 100 percent alone.

-If you dont work or dont like it, you go back to regular school (public or private).  my daughter's counselor checks in with us every few weeks.  if she is falling behind, she lets us know.  if she doesnt catch up, she'll have to go to the main office for a meeting.  They would give her ONE CHANCE to straighten up, if she couldnt, they would essentially kick her out, notify the school district that she was no longer a student, and we as parents would have to either enroll her into public, private, or home school (or possibly try to enroll into another cyber charter).

-If you go back to public school, they would probably give you an incomplete or fail on your transcripts, or give you time to catch up.

-Yes, there is a time frame, it generally similar to your local school districts time frame, but it is flexible.  She has work due and quarterly tests that need to be taken (as well as homework and quizzes) that is all monitored by teachers and her counselor.  The work and tests and homework all are given an expected amount of time of completion.  This is what the state uses to verify that cyber students are meeting the requirements of school attendance.  But if a classwork assignment is deemed 45 minutes, and it only takes you 15, you still are credited for the 45 min.  If you need to be away from 'school' for some reason (like my daughter who travels and competes), you can work ahead or catch up on work at your own pace.

-Yes, you can work faster with help from the teachers and your counselor-see above.  Also she can take college courses along with her HS classes, starting her sophmore year.

  5. thats a pretty general question, not sure what you are looking for.

But you should definately go to an "open house" or informational meeting to the cyber school you are looking into.  if they dont have anything listed on their website, just email or call them.  Our's (my daughter started this year) gives meetings in local hotels across the state, with plenty of staff on hand to show you how things are, answer questions and such.

There is still 'homework' and quizzes and tests, so dont think you'll be getting out of that! :)  You'll have a counselor to keep an eye on your progress and report to your parents.

    Hope this helps.  Good Luck!
