  2. Conventional means normally used where-as unconventional means new or innovative.

    So conventional methods, coal power, nuclear power, wind power etc.

    unconventional could be anything - using the energy from the knee joint / the compression of the shoe / biofuel etc.

    Thats my opinion

    It basically means a source of energy that is not harmful to the enviroment.
