I love the Shrek movies and i love the hiden meaning behind them for tolerance of ppl. Do u think ppl should take the meaning behind the movies and learn more tolernce for ppl who are differnt?

Yeah. Accepting reality of life is all about giving tolerance to the difference within it. We dont judge people coz from they look or who they r n what they believe, but from the result of what theyve done along with the process. Movies r great media in delivering 'message' to the viewer. But what people must learn is accepting our differences n try to walk side by side in harmony though not in the same path nor in the same car. Without differences we dont have things to learn. And life would be sooo much worse than boring.

I think a lot of people are already but with leaders in organized religion always demeaning certain groups, it'll be a long time before hate/prejudice is gone.

Usually, the point of a movie is to teach a lesson, so yes, it would probably be a good idea to take the idea from the movie and use it in real life, why not? But to be honest with you, most people watch a movie for the entertainment, and don't think as intellegently to really search the moral of a story.
