Hmm well i think that we will all kill each other.You know descend into anarchy.That seems more probable to me then super storms or meteors.

We reasonably expect the earth to fall into the sun eventually, if the sun does not explode first. But we do not expect other life to survive that very well.

Nor can we predict what event might cause us to fail completely and leave all other species. If we continue to pollute the earth with estrogen, not only mankind but most mammals would perish.

We know that mankind has survived through both a global warming  period and an ensuing ice age, even if die off may have been very heavy. Species that are very localized might be at greater risk of extinction than a widely dispersed population of mankind.

We could kill ourselves off with nuclear war, but we may have a greater risk of extinction from disease, particularly should a rapidly spreading disease of the immune system take hold.

Yet, most species become extinct with failure to reproduce, so we should expect that anything that interferes with our ability to reproduce would likely be involved in extinction.

Yes, a large object striking earth could kill most species and leave only well protected individuals alive.
