Wat do you think about cell phones?

do you think 10 years old is young for a cell phone (i have afterschool activities and need one). now gimme your opinion

oh jeez i had this problem too.

well if you are having trouble with your parents, take certain things into consideration:

1. Idk where you live, but usually kids who live in the city are a bit more independent in terms of how often they go out by themselves. whereas kids in the suburbs need an adult to always drive them around. if you are a city kid you probably need one way more.

2. Do you go home by yourself after your afterschools? If you do then you have another point here.

3. idk just in general, your parents probably have no problem with the $, but if you don't need one then they won't get you one. most parents will spend $$$ for their kids if they ABSOLUTELY NEED one, because you don't compromise safety.

4. also you obviously don't need like an iPhone lol. try to convince them to just get you a free phone thats very simple. after all, at your age the only thing you need is a phone that is just  a phone.

Yes, way too young. Children having cell phones makes me nervous because cell phones may cause cancer. They radiate your bones.

I HATE CELL PHONES........I HAD ONE FOR 4 DAYS,  I HATED IT SO MUCH,THAT I GAVE IT TO MY SON'S GF. TO TAKE OVER THE CONTRACT..........   HATE CELL PHONES.........WASTE OF SPACE, TIME & MONEY......... & SO MANY ACCIDENTS, BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE STUPID, THEY TALK ON PHONE WHILE DRIIVNG CARS, GET INTO ACCIDENTS.   & DUMB KIDS TEXT ON PHONES & GET INTO EVEN MORE ACCIDENTS.........  DO NOT GET ONE.......... DO NOT GET ONE............

yes, it is wayyy too young for a cellphone. you don't need one til you're sixteen, unless you get a prepaid phone at fourteen.

Well I was 10 when I got 1, and ill tell you that life has been much better 4 me!

They r the most handy invention that a human being has ever made, besides a car! Lol

But it seems that u really want 1 and could use 1! I have a tmobile sidekick lx and its rlly kool, but there's much better fones than this 1. So if your parents won't let u get a fone, u should prove that your responsable and that u would take good care of it.

Besides I've seen kids waaay younger than u having cell fones!

well sorta i got mine when i was 11  because my parents split up and they thought i might need one but at 10 you should get a pre payed phone or a firefly

I think a 10 year old should have one in case of emergency.  When I was 10 I had a prepaid phone that worked quite well.  I still have a prepaid phone.  TracFone is very reliable.

Otherwise, cell phones cause brain damage.

Yes, I think it is too soon to get one, it might be distracting you from studies and the cost of the service does not really cover the benefits. Unless you're running some business as an extracurricular activity :)

P.S. Those mentioning cell phone radiations must be already affected by them :)
