  1. with hamsters you leave mom and babies alone for 3 weeks, i think, and then you can separate the sexes. if you don't want more babies then put the baby boys with dad and leave the girls with mom

  2. I don't quite understand what you're asking, but I think I have most of it. You have a litter of hamsters. If the mom were to be pregnant again, you're asking if you'd have to remove all other hamsters from the cage, right?

If that's the case, yes. You should remove all other hamsters from the cage, because it can be very stressful on the mother. This can result in her cannibalizing her young.

However, you should not allow mother/son, brother/sister, or father/daughter to breed. Inbreeding is never recommended. When they're so closely related, they can bring out recessive genetic problems in the litter they have. Even responsible breeders rarely, if ever, inbreed.

  3. If they are Syrian, it would be good to separate the Dad, then leave the Mum and her babies alone until around the fourth week, when they have been weaned. Then separate the babies from the mother. Then the babies must be separated by five to six weeks, or the play fighting they indulge in will turn into real fighting, and they may mate. Syrian hamsters are solitary animals.

However, Dwarf hamsters are slightly different, and the male must not be removed from the cage.
