A BPO would popularly mean Business Process Outsourcing.  This is a recently developed concept after the technological development especially in I.T sector.  By this process, corporates are able to outsource those services that do not require their full time attention and resources so that they are enabled to  remain focused on their core competencies.  Time is some thing no one can buy even a fraction at any cost.  Given this thumb rule, corporates are racing ahead of each other trying to concentrate on core and deveopmental issues by outsourcing support services to other at a cost.  This concept has now proved to be a viable and cost effective option given the scale of operation of a corporate house thanks to the technological developments around the globe.  Some of the commonly used areas are such as Billing / processing / call centers / technical help destk / claims processing / financial services / mass banking etc.   BPO engulfs a vast gamut of services like BPO / KPO / LPO / EPO  etc.
