  1. Sales for a high-end dealer. I.E. Mercedes, BMW, Lexus, Hummer, Porsche, Saab, etc.

    or

    Race car driver

  2. Most of the auto industry prefers you to be state certifeid to do any type of work on a car for profit.

I am a ASE master certfied mechanic, which in short means I have gone through all the classes and hands on to know how to repair all aspects of a car.

I have even completed several of the other auto courses such as custom paint, custom interior, custom bodywork, and also a few of the company sponsored programs.

To get your foot in the door try a porter job, this invloves cleaning cars inside and out until they have a showroom shine. Usually no experience in needed and if your willing some places will even pay to get you certified.

Another very good one is transportation, if you can haul them around the US and deliver them.

Not a lot of hands on but you'll see some very cool cars, Lambo, Ferrarri, and other exotics, possibly even a few show cars or even a prototype

  3. anything involving technology and cars would be a good job to have (i.e. computers, machinery, robots, electronics... NOT mechanic unless you cater to rich people driving $100,000+ cars.)  What i used to aspire to be was an auto designer.  Mechanical engineering, Industrial engineering, chemical engineering (gotta figure out what cars will run on after oil is gone and also how to increase fuel efficiency), and computer graphics design are all options that would lead you to a high paying job involving cars.

  11. Become an ASE certified auto mechanic. It takes several years of hands on work, passing certain tests and if you desire you an become a specialist of certain areas or parts of automotive work. My ASE certification used to be in Transmissions and Brakes. My average salary 10 years ago was close to $21 per book hour, which averaged out to about $5000 per month gross pay.

  12. Alex, it depends on what you consider a good paying job. A limousine driver pays fairly well, especially driving clients to events. Or big bucks by being a race car driver. The money spread is wide apart so take your pick. Look under classified employment for car drivers, etc.
