Hey, I am 13 and I won the Western Montana State Championship for 65cc and 85cc in 05 and 06. I had to take a brake in 07 cause of injuries. Now i am ready to move up. Wat do you suggest. I need something that will help me a win. You can expect that I am a very good rider. Wat do you think of the new raptor 250. But, I still want a bike.

  1. raptor 250 but i recommend u to get a honda 150 r expert

  2. 700r by a holeshot but the 150r isnt what you would espect but still a nice bike look at 250 worth the extra dollar and yes im 13 to

  3. Well, since you are experienced and am a good rider, then you should get a 250 bike, big bikes pushes you to ride harder and better. If you're short like me (5'4 105lb), all you need to do is kick start standing on your bike stand, and push start if you ever get stuck. If you are uncomfortable about not being able to put your feet flat on the ground, then get it adjusted, get the seat trimmed...etc.

250 will do you good...will push you to improve your skills and boost your confident levels, especially at such a young age.

125 is a fun bike, yet being as experienced as you are, it will not improve your skills as such a 250 bike would.

But when considering a 125 or 250...you just have to sit on it, try different makes and see which you will be comfortable riding...are you going to ride out of the box, or going to modify it?...etc etc etc. Talk to the dealers, but don't let them talk you into buying the wrong bike.

    Don't get a raptor 250 or crf150r...that's not a toy for a state champion!

P.S. I have seen a 10 year old on a 450, if I ever have a son, I would want him to be that 10 year old. lol

  4. You don't say how tall you are so it is hard to give advice as to what bike you should get.  If you are as good as you say I cannot imagine you being happy to race a quad.  Once a motocross bike rider always a motocross bike rider.  If you are coming back from injury and are used to doing well then perhaps you should step back into either the 85cc section or as the 150cc class races separately where you are the 150cc section.

That way when you feel comfortable back on the bike you can consider moving onto a 250cc 4 stroke or a 125cc 2 stroke. But with a 125cc 2 stroke you do have to consider that they generally run with the 250cc 4 strokes (lites) and the 4 strokes usually do have the advantage.

The crf150r is a great bike and my son races one quite successfully.  Just this weekend he podiumed at a state titles on his and the top 3 riders all had laptimes better than 90% of the A grade 4 stroke 250cc riders class.  So they are a fast racing bike if ridden by a good rider. At the age you are you would still be allowed to race in this class for a few more years.

But I guess that is all depending upon how tall and big a 13 year old you are, as if you are small then there is no point in going to something like a 250cc if you cannot quickly pick it up in the middle of a race as you are just too small. Also keep in mind that classes for racing have age restrictions so there is no point in buying a bike that you are not allowed to race due to your being the wrong age.

  5. 150r is the best

  6. i dont understand, the raptor 250 is a quad, do you want to race quads now or do you still want to race a bike??

  7. if you got a raptor 250 it would be a small toy to you.. i've ridden a 350 maxed out and you're easily twice as good as me at riding. if you got a raptor quad just to mess around on you should get a 660. my friend is 13 and doesn't race and he can ride a 660 very well. they are powerful and fast. as for a bike maybe consider a 250 depending on you're size.
