  5. There is no one specific form of Curry.  Curry is a blend of different spices, and the spices used are different in various regions and family recipe traditions.

    Most people link Curry flavor to Indian food.

    The strongest tastes in most Indian Curry blends are Turmeric and Coriander seed.

    Here's a recipe to making a big batch of Curry, of an Indian flavor.

    roasted coriander seeds (1 lb);

    turmeric (1lb 2oz);

    fenugreek (4oz);

    ginger, dried (1 lb);

    black pepper (1 lb);

    dried chillies (12 oz);

    cardamoms (8 oz);

    cinnamon (8 oz).

    Salt to taste

    I personally enjoy dried saffron in the mix as well.  Saffron adds a strong aroma and taste that blends well with turmeric.

    There are some strong flavors in this mix, so using in small amounts will still generate full flavor.  Once mixed and stored in an air tight container, will last a long time.

    And again, different regions and families have their own Curry blends.  There's no one specific curry recipe.  But most are very similar.

    Hope that helps.....
