  1. Well, I will tell you what Albanians will think.

First of all it is frowned upon for Albanians to marry outside their culture.  Albania was an isolated society for almost 50 years and marrying foerigners has been almost inexistent.  In the 1950's a lot of Albanians who were studying in Moscow and were either married or engaged to Russians had to break off their relationships because they were called to Albania after Albanian broke off diplomatic relationship with USSR.  A few Russians brides followed them few to Albania but those were the exceptions.

Things have changed drastically in the last two decades as marrying foreigners has become less of a stigma, and in some cases is preferred by females.  Males still want by and large to marry Albanian.

There are plenty of Albanian females who have been married to Western Europeans and Caucasian Americans.

Marrying outside your race though is very recent and I've only heard of a few cases.  It is still taboo and most people who've done it have been ostracized by the community.  The problem stems from the country of Albania itself where the only racial minority, the Gypsies, were and still are treated as second class citizens.  Albanians and Gypsies live pretty much separate lives and both communities seem content with the status quo.  When Albanians move to the U.S. Hispanics, Blacks and Indians remind them of the gypsies back home, hence marriage is unthinkable.

I tried to be frank and not beat around the bush here.  It may sound very racist but I've heard the same sentiment from many other peoples as well.  I know of Hispanics and Indians who would never marry African-Americans for example.

    However love is blind.

    Best of luck buddy.

  2. Interesting, I've never heard of it before. A good interesting, I think its nice.

  3. I'm Puerto Rican, and most people think I'm Indian... My hubby is Albanian, but most people thing he's Puerto Rican!!!

I think it's all good as long as you love each other...

  4. I think it would be awesome :) If you love each other and want to spend the rest of your lives together, then do it! Race shouldn't come into it.

I've never seen an Albanian wedding but I'm sure it would be great fun. And I just loooooooove Indian weddings, they are so bright and colourful and happy!
