Wat is the best way to teach an infant how to swim?

I have 17 month old twins and im want to teach them how to swim..what is the best way to go about it Other then takin them to swimming lessons...its too d**n expensive.

  1. put them in a mom and me class in a comunity class done by the city or ask your comunity center ours is $45


  2. At 17 months, I personally would think that is too young and they probably would not even understand what is going on. Perhaps 2 or 3 years would be better.

    But, at that age, I don't really see them "swimming." Just introduce them to the water and get them comfortable. Gradually let them go underwater and get used to it.

  3. well just take them to a pool and start working with them like have them lay on there back and keep your arms under your son  

    or daughters back and then when they get ok with that take your arms out but stay right beside them. i hope it helps

  4. teach them how to put their face in the water and blow bubbles. at 17 months, you just want them to be comfortable in the water, and learn not to panic in the water. that way if they were to fall in they wouldnt panic and be scared
