Wat is the book Desert Solitaire:a season in the wilderness by Edward Abbey about?

im doing an assignment for highskool and i have a choice between this book and a couple others, but im wondering about this one and how time consuming it is....i mean i havent even seen the book! so please give me your thots and answers! thanks ;)

It is a diary of a year living in the Arizona desert -- it is nature writing mostly, and does not have a plot, if that is something you are interested in.
