  1. In a sense a Master Craftsman is the highest grade within a craft.  There may not be a numerical grade as in school.  The number of years and required test of performance varies from craft to craft and within which jurisdiction that the trade is practiced.  The requirements for a Master Book Binder are different than that of a Master Plumber, Electrician, or Cabinet Maker.
