Forests use to be in abundance.  They are our natural air filter and O2 re-generator.  Man started to use trees as shelter and dead ones for fire.  Then they learned to cut them down to use for lumber and clear paths for roadways, buildings, and livestock. Eventually the forest trend became out of fashion so deforestation began.
