Something that ppl always forget to include in a question like this is.. *Where do you plan to buy it ~ online or from a retail store?*

You also forgot to mention what kind and size of amp you place to use..

Either way, here are a few you should truly consider. Whether you purchased two of them from here online, or you could only purchase one from an audio shop, these are good decisions.

All are considered in your price range as a 12" sub.

The number one sub I will tell you that has been mainly proven `built to last` is the Alpine Type R. It is 130 a piece on Ebay, or for a little more than 250, you can get one w/ a 4 yr. warranty at Best Buy.

There are always a few bad apples in the bunch, and not everyone would agree, but you hardly see negative reviews on the Type R. Watch them on youtube and notice some of the amps they can handle. Other subs would choke at some of the levels the Type R's take. Spend the time and read the reviews..

Boston Acoustics G5  ..200 a piece online, or buy one get one free on Crutchfield for 400 w/ warranty and free shipping.

I have a Kicker Comp 10" in a sealed box that has broken windows. It's a low wattage sub that really puts out some power. They go for $90 each at Circuit City.
