  1. First off not all his books are located in maine, Eyes of the Dragon was midevil times , the Stand takes place primarly in Boulder and Vegas...yes it started in Maine but only in the Begining does it Mention Maine....it also goes through Hemiford Home and many other Cities

it states in the book that it is in a small new england town but yes knowing King it was a town in Maine..

  2. Maine. Like all his other books.

While Eyes of the Dragon did not, it is a given, seeing as the type of story it is.

Stephen King's "The Mist" is based in Bridgton, Maine, a very small town located 3 hours North of Massachusetts. It is located near the Saco River and Sebago Lake, both popular summer retreats. It is also near the Shawnee Peak Ski Area, which is very popular during the winter.

The movie was filmed in Shreveport & Vivian Louisiana, both located in the far NW corner of the state.
