Wat please help NEXTEL !!!!?

I have a nextel i580 cell phone ...... can I just pop in my boost mobile sim card in it .. ?? will texting work ???? please please lemme know. I bought this phone off of some one and dont have nextel I have boost mobile !!!!!!! THANKS SOOOOOOO MUCH !!!!!!

That's hard to say. Boost is a subsidiary of Sprint and Boost makes use of both CDMA and IDEN technologies. Sprint is a CDMA network and Nextel is an IDEN network. Since you have a sim card, I would guess that your sim will work with the Nextel phone because CDMA doesn't use sim cards while IDEN does. Just put your card in and see.

Sorry to say the Sprint/Nextel do not use sim cards.
