i am a ice skater and i am learning this trick......and i have to be flex able.......what are some good tricks to be flex able??????

  1. Stretch stretch stretch is all you really can do! Try these and hold each for 10 seconds or more

    - sit with your feet together in front of you (called a pike) try to put your nose to your knees

    - sit in a pike and try to pull your heels off the ground with out bending your legs

    - sit with your legs spread out in a "v" (called a straddle) as far as they will go and reach to the left

    - sit in a straddle and reach to the right

    - sit in a straddle and reach to the middle

    - do a right lunge

    - do a middle lunge

    - do your right splits

    - do your left splits

    - do your middle split

    - any other stretches you can think of..

  6. Yoga helps. Stretching also works very well so the links below will give you some ideas on what to do. When your stretching you should have a routine that you do. Such as start with warming up your muscles. Then stretch. Then cool down your muscles.

  8. I agree with what everyone else pretty much said already.  Stretch every day.  Build it into your routine so that you don't forget.  Practice spiral positions.  Practice stretching in front of a mirror.  This helps see what you are doing and builds body awareness.  

    IIf you stretch gently every day, you will see major improvement in no time.

    BTW, does anyone know if those max flex things work?

Stretch there are some good sites with stretches for ice skaters along with off ice training tips etc. and make sure you do 5-10 minutes of warm up before you stretch (jump rope, jogging, stairs, etc.) or you can pull a muscle. You have to remember that you won't become flexible overnight it takes time and dedication but if you work at you'll be at a whole new level flexiblity helps with more than skating too.

  11. Stretch for about 3 hours everyday in different positions

  12. stretch out a lot  and stretch for longer periods of time if u stretch for 10 minutes u wont be that much but an hour and you'll be really flexibler and less likely to pull anything
