  1. Nothing he can do legally I'm afraid.  The drink is just an excuse.

All he can do is write to his daughter and hopefully she will let him see her and her children.  However if the estranged wife is putting the dagger in - I dont see how you can get over that.  I suppose it all depends on the circumstances of the separation - did he go off with another woman - or if not - has everyone else been told that he did.

Seems to me they think he's the villain of the piece.

He shouldnt give up though - no matter how hard it gets.

Poor man.  Poor daughter.  Hope it all works out for you all.

  2. That's a bit of a pathetic reason, He cant do anything legally to see his grandchild.

  3. It depends where your from cos in the UK you can get Grandparents Rights..

  4. This is a very sad situation, he has lost so much in such a short period of time.

Can any other members of the family reason with his daughter on his behalf and try to make her see some sense. Could he not take his drink after he has seen the child. It's really clutching at straws because he has no rights at all as far as his grandchild is concerned. I feel very sorry for him.

  5. He has no legal rights, but his daughter seems a hypocrite *****.

  6. Actually, some states have what is called Grandparents Rights. I would have him check around, see if where he lives is one of those fortunate places.

  7. Unfortunately grandparents have no legal rights to their grandchildren.

Why doesn't he try resolving the rift with his daughter first.
