  1. Holey c**p, Rocky looks slow.  There is no way those punches land on an all timer.

  2. He was not famous for his speed. Her was famous for his toughness. Even Muhammad Ali was down against Henry Cooper who was more of a cruiser weight than a heavyweight.

  3. Once Again Marciano DID NOT FIGHT ANY TOP 5 HEAVY- WEIGHT ALL TIME WHILE THEY WERE STILL IN THIER PRIME......................................

Was he a great fighter/brawler yes. Could have lasted 7 rounds with Ali- h**l NO!........................................

COULD HE HAVE LASTED 3 ROUNDS WITH FOREMAN.................THEY WOULD HAVE LOCKED BIG GEORGE UP FOR MURDER!....................................

FRAZIER WOULD HAVE KOed MARCIANO IN THE 8TH!....

    THESE WERE GREAT FIGHTER/BOXERS!

HAVING SAID THIS MARCIANO STILL ACCOMPLISHED A LOT IN HIS CAREER AND I'M A FAN, SO ON THE ALL TIME GREAT HEAVY-WEIGHTS LIST HE'S AROUND 7 OR 8.

  4. Less than spectacular performance against a sub par opponent that ended in a knockout for the champ.  Sometimes a mediocre fighter steps up his game for the champion, it happens all the time.  The punch Tony Galento hit Louis with didn't make Joe less of a fighter, and this one, while not pretty was still a victory.

Rocky Marciano was one of the greatest heavyweights in history.

  5. I agree with some of the other answers. Was Marciano great? Yes. you dont go undefeated without being skilled (although Marciano was quite crude). How would Marciano have fared if he had fought in the 60's and 70's when heavyweights had their heyday with Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Liston, Shavers etc. I think Larry Holmes in his prime Lennox Lewis with his size and jab could have beaten Marciano. So is he great: yes; one of the greatest: yes. But I still dont think he is the greatest Heavyweight of all-time.

  6. whach wat

  7. All due respect to R.M. he would be the first to tell this was not a fight to remember.

  8. 49-0 with 43 knockouts is hard to argue against and also he was champion at the right place and the right time.
