Watching Tyra Banks show about purity balls?

Has anyone ever been to one of these? it seems kinda weird to me, is anyone else creeped out by this or do you think it is normal??? they showed a 5 year old girl, A 5 year old shouldnt even know what virginity means. The daughters seem innocent and promise to keep their "purity" but do you think they will when they are older..

I think it's really sad how kids are finding out about s*x and virginity etc at a younger and younger age. I only found out about it when I was six because my older brother who was eight heard about it from kids at school got in the car at afternoon pick-up and blabbed it all to me. Also my cousin who is my age got it from somewhere, parents I don't know but she told me the word. I forgot all about it till Mum explained the birds and the bees to me aged nine. I doubt this innocent five year old will end up keeping her word. I'm not sure about Australian teens but I've heard in America 1 in 4 teens have/have had a STD/STI
