Watching online videos on my computer?

when i go to moviefather.com to watch movies, my computer lags like crazy but when i surf the net it goes really fast? why is that? what do i need to do cuz i still have 3 quarters of my full gb left which is a lot

  1. Your "GB" is storage space, and doesn't mean anything when it comes to online videos.

    Most likely, your graphics adapter doesn't support hardware acceleration. Newer versions of Flash use hardware acceleration for videos.

    Watching some videos without hardware acceleration will cause the CPU to be used for all of the video data. Even relatively newer systems will lag and jerk under this kind of stress. It'll work, but it won't be smooth at all.

    Purchase a newer graphics adapter. They're pretty cheap nowadays. You don't need anything fancy. Anything off the shelf will have hardware acceleration support.


  2. Streaming media is usually more intensive than simple websites. Conventional website only have to download the text from the website, whereas on sites like YouTube, you need to download the video as well as the page.

    Another reason may be that the website is running slow. Your ISP may also be artificially slowing down traffic from high traffic or bandwidth websites.

  3. probably because some of the movies come from far away states or countries, and also the fact that so many people are using it at once, it could lag it a bit.
