Watching other teams’ victories is a hard pill to swallow, says http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Peter-Trego-c2181 – Cricket News Update
Peter Trego, the Somerset all-rounder, is fed-up of watching the victories of other County teams as he is padded up to change the fate of his side by performing to his utmost in their CB40 final against Surrey at Lord’s.
The veteran cricketer reveals that his team has been witnessing their competitors lifting trophies and titles and experiencing constant defeats since the last couple of years. Confident of his professional skills, the all-rounder is keen to prove today that
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Somerset-c843 can also bag big triumphs.
Trego claims that all his teammates are fervent and well-prepared to beat http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Warwickshire-c862 last year.
Talking to the media today, Trego, who considers today as ‘ honeymoon evening’, said, “We’ve experienced enough teams lifting trophies while we’ve been watching now – and it’s always a bitter pill to swallow but it only spurs you on. As a collective, as
a group, as a team, we are very motivated to bring trophies home and we’ll keep plugging away and doing the good work that we do behind the scenes.”
Trego is of the view that the time is ripe and the entire situation is in their favour to end the County season with a marvellous success. He has also hailed the Lord's pitch and termed it a ‘dream ground’.
He told, “It’s a massive occasion and I would liken it to your honeymoon night,” he said. “It’s the dream ground, it’s the dream trophy and it’s the end of the season – it’s all set up.”
Trego contributed an epic century to his team’s convincing victory over http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lancashire-c806 on Thursday, September 15. He wants to replicate the same in today’s mega clash.
The 30-year-old is a right-arm pacer along with being a right-handed middle-order batsman. He has played 116 First-Class, 121 List A and 77 T20 matches since starting his career in 1999. His batting and bowling averages in the domestic cricket have been
excellent over the years.
