  1. 1. Nonpoint source pollution is a source of pollution that you can't pinpoint exactly where it is. It is hard to monitor and control because you can't pinpoint the exact source of pollution. Whereas, in point source pollution, such as pipes, you know exactly where the pollution is coming from and can "point" out the location. You are able to monitor and control point source pollution because you know the exact source of pollution and are able to fix the problem more readily.
