Question:

Water Damaged Sim has No Network Coverage?

I drowned my mobile phone in diet coke two days ago.

The moisture indicator on the battery is bright red, indicating there has been water damage. The battery still works though, and the phone switches on and, apart from the fact that the back light is broken, it runs perfectly.

However, its had 'no network coverage' since it got wet, so i cant text or call. Searching for a new network doesn't work either.

Does this mean the sim is broken? Or is the phone just not recognising it?

Is there anyway of fixing the sim or the phone?

Thank you in advance!

  1. hey Top the sim cards normally survive the dip in the coke, water or ocean.. its the phone itself that has issues.

Try using your sim card in another phone and see if its able to read it.. if so then your sim is fine and you need to replace your phone! If you put the sim card in another phone and its not readable .. make a trip to the store to get a new sim card since that is your problem.
