Water Infection (cystitis) or something else? Can anyone help?

About 4 weeks ago I started feeling ill, with period like pains, felt sick and a bursting need to go to the loo. I went and had blood test and urine test, and it turned out to be a water infection. I've been given Amoxicilin, and have been on it for 3 weeks now - the symptoms reappeared after the 2nd course. The bursting feeling and needing the loo has gone, but the pain hasnt. Its not agonizing, but its intermitent like a dull ache very low down by the bladder, and intermittent sharper pains where my ovaries are. I feel really low, tired and have lost my appetite. Been back to docs, they are going to do a scan at my request, and have asked me to do another urine test at the end of the week when my antibiotics runs out. Has anyone else had these symptoms or experiences? Could this be ovarian cysts or kidney stones? Hope someone can help! xxxx

  1. Hi, I've had cystitis too, but after the course of treatment all the pain went away.   Are you sure the pain isn't in your lower back? That could be a sign of kidney infection.  Don't worry, the docs have antibiotics for that too.  Drink plenty of water, take it easy and see what the scan and test results say.

    Good luck.
