Is 1 cup of water equal to 1 cup of koolaid, if you wanted to drink 16 cups of water per day, would 1 cup of koolaid and tea still count?

  1. For sure it will!!! Any liquid counts toward the quota of "water"!!

Koolaid is just flavoring and sugar in WATER!!

I drink about half that much in coffee then have a couple of flavored waters in the afternoons.

Caffeine content is NOT a factor when counting your quota of liquid!!! Unless your doctor told you to limit the caffeine for some reason.

Iced coffees or frappes would count just as well, and so will your milk or milkshake/malt.

  2. NO!  Instead of getting the recommended dose of water, youre getting an unhealthy amount of sugar, preservatives and chemicals. It will make you high strung and fat, instead of fit, all that sugar can also cause dehydration, even with all that water!

  3. Yes it is equal, but you'd be getting an awful lot of sugar unles you used the sugar free stuff. Caffeinated and carbonated drinks don't count.

  4. Apples and Oranges.

Replaceing koolaid for water will increase your calories and sugar. Not a good idea. It is ok to have some koolaid but I would not have that much.

Replacing tea for water will increase calories and sugar as well but it also has caffeine. Since it takes more water for our body to process caffeine than a caffeinated drink offers then it actually dehydrates us. So technically you then would not really be replacing the water in your body.

Most sodas, coffee and teas contain between 20 - 30 mg of caffeine. This would mean that even at just 10 cups you are consuming much more caffeine than your body could ever need. A recent study noted severe problems starting to manifest with people taking in 300 mg of caffeine a day.

Caffeine also depletes our bodies of calcium. So not only are we dehydrating our bodies and wearing down or organs due to overwork and not enough coolant and hydration we are wearing down our bones as well.
